Timothy P. Dunn, CFA – Founder, Managing Member, and Chief Investment Officer
Prior to founding Terra Alpha Investments LLC, Tim was a Senior Vice President at Capital Research which manages $1.3 Trillion in investment funds. At Capital, Tim was one of the lead managers of Capital's largest and most successful funds including Growth Fund of America, Capital World Growth and Income Fund, and EuroPacific Growth Fund. As an equity analyst he covered a diverse range of global sectors from consumer products to electrical equipment. Additionally, Tim served on many organizing committees at Capital and oversaw the firm's global research cluster teams.
He also worked as an advisor to CDP, formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project, on strategic planning and organizational effectiveness. Tim has served as a Trustee of the Virginia Chapter of The Nature Conservancy. Currently, He serves on the board of the Piedmont Foundation and on the Investment & Finance Committee of the PATH Foundation.
He holds a BA in International Relations from The College of William & Mary and a MBA in Finance from Northeastern University.
Andrew Geller – Senior Partner and Chief Financial Officer
Andrew began his 30-year investment career on the buy side as an equity analyst covering multiple broad industry groups. As an analyst, he worked at four firms including PNC Bank and Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Andrew then spent 19 years working on the sell side in institutional equity sales at Oppenheimer & Co. advising large mutual funds, banks and other money managers. While at Oppenheimer, Andrew worked in both Los Angeles and New York City.
In his free time, Andrew is a passionate chef and has taken on the challenge of working in the kitchens of some exceptional restaurants across the country.
He holds a BS in Finance from The Pennsylvania State University.
Amy E. Dine – Director of Advocacy
Amy was a global economist with Capital International/Capital Group Companies focused on OECD economies, portfolio asset allocation, and industry-specific macro research in the investment group. She later took on the initial environmental, social, and governance research and engagement for Capital's institutional business as the socially responsible investment specialist, overseeing $15 billion in assets with an SRI/ESG mandate. She joined the firm as part of The Associates Program, a select, in-house MBA-equivalent rotational program. Prior to Capital, she was at the US Department of State.
Most recently, she was the director of strategic development for a global non-profit and social impact business, Coexist, and now serves on the board. She is a founder of the Build Israel Palestine coalition and its initial grey-water recycling project. Amy is a current member of WISE (Women for a Sustainable Economy). She is also a member of the US SIF Advisory Committee for the 2016 report on US Sustainable, Responsible, and Impact Investing Trends.
She holds a BA with honors from Harvard University.
Daniel Sanborn, CFA – Director of Investment Data & Research
Dan is an accomplished financial analyst with close to a decade of experience at Ned Davis Research Group and Vardon Capital Management. He is a key contributor in the integration of environmental and fundamental metrics into the Terra Alpha investment process.
While at Ned Davis Research Group, Dan was assisting the U.S. Strategist in identifying market capitalization, style, and thematic leadership trends. His primary responsibility at Vardon Capital, which at the time was a $475 million hedge fund, was to normalize earnings data and conduct financial statement analysis.
He holds a BA in Economics from Rollins College and a MS in Finance from University of Florida Warrington College of Business.
Brendan Corbett – Research Analyst
Brendan researched as a winter intern for Terra Alpha, and joined the firm on graduating. During college, Brendan was the assistant environmental coordinator for Virginia's James City County efforts to evaluate energy usage, including experience performing building energy audits. He spent a summer at the EPA in congressional and interagency affairs.
He holds a BA in Environmental Policy and Finance from The College of William & Mary.
Rita Morency – Research Analyst
Rita joined Terra Alpha after working professionally in Copenhagen, Denmark, as part of the Economics and International Business department at DIS, Study Abroad in Scandinavia. She arranged academically relevant visits throughout Europe for 150 economics and business students, led groups of 25+ students on study tours, and facilitated course-integrated learning. She previously interned for both The Nature Conservancy and The Piedmont Environmental Council in Virginia.
She holds a BA in Economics and History from The College of William & Mary.
Jacob E. Hampton – Senior Research Analyst
During his graduate studies, Jacob worked as a spring private equity associate for Lone Star Investment Advisors, as an equity research analyst covering the consumer staples sector for the Nancy Chambers Underwood Endowment Fund, and as an investment analyst for Southern Methodist University's Venture Capital Fund. Prior to his graduate studies, Jacob held a variety of different positions in the consumer goods industry. Jacob is currently working towards the CFA designation.
He holds a BA in History, and a MBA in Finance with a specialization in Investments from Southern Methodist University where he graduated as salutatorian.
Nathaniel Schwartz – Investment Research Intern
As an undergraduate, Nathaniel served on the College of Business Student Council, provided coverage of the consumer goods sector as an analyst in the Auburn University Student Investment Fund, and was the treasurer of his fraternity. Nathaniel previously interned for Terra Alpha in the summer of 2016.
He holds a BS in Finance from Auburn University where he graduated with honors.
Jill Baker, CFA – Research Advisor
Jill has over 18 years of buy-side investment experience as an equity analyst. She is an Adjunct Fellow of the Asia Business Council where she has focused on renewable energy in Asia, and she serves on the Board of Foundation for Child Development.
She holds a BA in Economics from George Mason University and an MS in Global Finance from NYU Stern School of Business.
